Yiduo has become a familiar face of Auckland’s quiz scene, hosting quiz nights across the country for years. As the founder of The Good Hosts, he set out with a mission: bring high energy, expertly hosted quiz nights to every corner of NZ.​

Beyond the quiz mic, Yiduo is a seasoned DJ and MC with over a decade of experience commanding crowds across New Zealand and internationally. From weddings to massive festivals such as Rhythm & Vines, he knows how to read a room and create an atmosphere people remember.

​

You’ll find him working hard behind the scenes growing The Good Hosts, and bringing the energy to weekly quiz nights at venues all around Auckland.

 

Yiduo’s mission is simple - make every event an unforgettable experience.​

Rhett is all the way from Chicago, he made the move to Tauranga when he was young, then headed up to Hamilton to study. Now he’s joined the rest of us in the big smoke.

​

He loves all things comedy and figuring out how to make people laugh. He’s also a big music fan and can talk music for hours, especially metal. So make sure to tell him your favourite band when you next see him!

​

When he’s not out hosting quizzes, he spends his days as a corporate forex dealer, indulges in disc golf and plays a bit of guitar!

Originally from Ukraine, Anastasiia has been calling Auckland home for over a decade.

 

With a background in architecture and acting, she’s no stranger to being in front of a crowd and loves bringing a bit of energy and vibesto quiz night.

 

When she’s not hosting trivia, she’s usually working across creative projects including acting, modelling, and content creation. Outside of work she enjoys rollerskating, painting, going to the gym, and looking after her indoor plant collection.

Haylee was born and raised in Tauranga, before venturing off to the Waikato to complete a Bachelor of Communication. After graduating, she made her way back to the beach and kicked off her career in Radio Promotions.

Bubble, personable and always up for a chat, Haylee is a natural people person who loves bringing people together and making sure everyone is having a good time. Whether she's helping create memorable events, bringing the energy to an activation, or rounding up a team for a quiz night, she thrives on connecting with others and creating experiences people can enjoy together.

​

With a passion for her community, a love of a good laugh and an ability to make people feel welcome, Haylee brings plenty of energy and personality to everything she does.

Tamara is a long time quiz goer and quiz host, taking her love for useless facts and big chats to her new favourite weeknight.

​

Coming from a background in performing arts, Tamara is no stranger to being in front of a crowd. She has toured the country and even toured sugar factories. If there’s ever a sugar round, she’s your girl.

​

Tamara is proud to be a part of the Good Hosts, and is excited to know all the answers for once! If you come along to one of Tamara’s quiz nights you will find her with a cider or cheeky sprite and probably trying to find a way to work movie trivia or dogs into every quiz.

With a background of customer service, stand up comedy and metal singing (screaming?), Scott brings large energy into any space.

​

Creating a safe and inclusive environment, he delivers the bants that give the people a space to get chatty and have a laugh, all while keeping it tasteful so you can invite your Grandma.​​

​

Bringing quizzes to a pumped up level in that sweet spot just above a golf cap, Scott will add that perfect amount of spice to your Quiz Night.

Read is a current PhD student studying New Zealand History, having completed his Master’s Degree in the History of the Moriori People in 2016. He's twice been a guest speaker at the New Zealand Historical Associations Conference, in 2015 and 2019, and has also been a speaker at the Victoria & Albert Museum’s International Women’s Week celebrations.

He grew up in a musical and theatrical home and has spent most of his life either on stage or in the wings (along the way he even learnt to play the Flugelhorn).

​

He throughly enjoys hosting quizzes and one of his highlights is looking forward to seeing regulars on the quiz circuit!

​

Ashlee was born and raised in Wellington but moved to Auckland in 2019 and hasn’t looked back.

 

With a background in dance, being in front of an audience is something she is very comfortable with.

 

Outside of this, Ashlee is a big foodie and loves trying out new foods, flavours, dishes and restaurants.

Connor Magatogia is a professional Cook Island/Niuean quiz host, actor, musician, and sound designer based in Tamaki Makaurau.

​

Having performed and crewed in numerous theatrical productions across Aotearoa and on the silver screen, Connor is a seasoned hand when it comes to using his velvet voice and magnetic charm. In this case, to bring the best time out for quizzes near and far!

​

No stranger to hosting, Connor has worked the room from Shakespeare, D&D games, voice-overs, and in many other sectors as he's always loved bringing people together, whether it's to tell an epic tale or to just have a mean night out.​

Calum has been with The Good Hosts since day one. He is a man of many talents, from acting to working in hospo, retail , even hustling as a magician, clown AND Superhero.

​

Hosting pub quizzes is the job he's enjoyed the most, because not only are people forced to listen to his jokes, it also means he can find uses for all the useless information that he has stored.

​

He takes all the fun facts he's collected over a lifeime of guzzling back trivia and sprays them over a tipsy audience with a good dash of comedy mixed in.

Originally from Colombia but a Kiwi at heart, I’ve spent the last 8 years embracing the vibrant hospitality industry here in New Zealand.

 

With a background in journalism, public relations, marketing, and customer service, I've found my true passion in hosting events. There’s something special about creating an environment where people feel entertained, engaged, and truly cared for.

 

Currently, I host the ever-popular Brothers Beer Quiz Night, and I’m excited to bring my energy and experience to your venue!

 

And in case you were wondering; YES, I do sound like Sofia Vergara!

Taine is a newcomer to quiz hosting, however he has been involved with quiz teams for the past 4 years participating in Believe It or Not pub quiz nationals for 2 years in a row now.

 

Despite being a non-drinker, you can find Taine hosting a pub quiz with a cranberry juice in hand ready to answer any film based questions.

Matthew is a born and bred Kiwi, emerging from the bubbling sulphur pools of Rotorua, and eventually hobbling his way through Tauranga up to the big Tamaki Makaurau.

 

He is a performer at heart playing anything from pop punk to Shakespeare, to a dive bar or the Globe, or pretending he could be a model on set (see above) - he’s filled his fair share of shoes.

 

Of the occupations he has had; Wedding MC, Session Musician, Kids Party Entertainer. Quiz Hosting is hands down his most enjoyed.

 

You can find him playing in bands around the Auckland scene, acting in a local theatre production or short film, pestering his mates to just give him one more game of chess, or hosting a banger quiz at a bar near you!
